A bogus feng shui master has gone on trial in Hong Kong accused of tricking a 15-year-old girl into having sex with him to rid her of evil spirits, a news report said Thursday. Jobless Yuen Yuk-yin, 43, allegedly persuaded his girlfriend's sister to have sex with him over a five-year period starting when she was 15, the Hong Kong Standard reported.
Yeun allegedly burnt Taoist motifs before having sex with her and convinced the teenager the bogus ceremonies were keeping evil spirits and demons at bay, the newspaper said. Yuen has pleaded not guilty to seven counts of procuring another person for unlawful sex acts by false pretences between September 2004 and January 2010. His trial began Wednesday.
The hearing follows a number of similar court cases in 2010 involving exorcists and feng shui masters in Hong Kong accused of tricking young women into sex. In November, a 52-year-old second hand car dealer who claimed to be an exorcist was convicted of procurement and rape of a 19-year-old after telling her she was 'haunted' by ghosts.
Nine months earlier, a bogus Taoist master who tricked a Hong Kong woman into giving him 190,000 US dollars and having sex with him repeatedly in return for 'heavenly rewards' was jailed for 56 months. And in January 2010, a self-proclaimed feng shui master was jailed for six years and nine months for duping a 19-year-old Hong Kong model into having sex by saying it would rid her of bad luck.
