History of Feng shui

October 15, 2009 |14:39 | History of feng shui  By : Team X

History of Feng shuiLong before there were weather reports, realtors and architects, wind and water were seen as omens and sacred signs directing shamans as to the most auspicious location for a grave, alter or home.

The term Feng Shui means "wind" (Feng) and "water" (Shui)  and is the name the Chinese  gave to a very practical and intuitive art which seeks to bring people and their environment into balance and harmony creating the most positive relationship possible.

This balanced and harmonious relationship allows one to  direct the flow of nature's positive energy or Chi to bring opportunities, blessings, peace, joy, health, wealth, happiness, success and positive relationships into our lives.

AUTHENTIC FENG SHUI

August 25, 2009 |11:16 | History of feng shui  By : Team X

Have you ever wondered what a compass reveals? At first glance, it maps the directions of the earth's magnetic fields, helping us find out bearings. While this is true, the ancients who developed the magnetic geomancer's compass over 4,000 years ago included rings as shown in the illustration, to read astronomical, astrological, and mathematical data.

AUTHENTIC FENG SHUI

This information interprets the relationships between people and their environment, enabling them to positively transform their lives. The ancients understood, as modern medicine now accepts, that acupuncture directs the flow of energy in the body. Similarly, Feng Shui directs the energy of the environment.

The Purpose of Feng Shui

August 6, 2009 |15:35 | History of feng shui  By : Team X

The Purpose of Feng ShuiFeng Shui is both about  being in a position to take full advantage of opportunities that come your way, AND about neutralizing negative energy coming your way, so that it impacts you less. Unlike in the West, luck is not viewed as a matter of CHANCE in Chinese culture.

The luck you are born with is called Heaven Luck, and the luck you make with your own efforts is called Man Luck.  Most people’s lives in the West are a patchwork of the two.

But the Chinese believe in the third type of luck (which until recently was unknown in the West) called Earth Luck, which is another name for Feng Shui.  Together, these three types of luck make up the Chinese Trinity of Luck.

Feng Shui is used to secure prosperity and respect, secure longevity, have more children,   increase business opportunities, improve your social life, enhance your marital prospects, enable to you better “go with the flow,”  and to make your life function more smoothly.

Learning about feng shui

July 16, 2009 |11:33 | History of feng shui  By : Team X

Feng Shui (literally translated as wind-water) is an ancient Chinese healing science/art designed to bring individuals into  harmonious healing with their enviroment, whether it be their homes, gardens, offices, etc. Based upon the power within the five elements of  air, fire, water, wood, and metal (see Hartford Examiner article posted June 9, 2009) the idea behind feng shui is that everything in the universe in inter-related and according to how the energies of each element are blended together in very specific ways they can effectively increase, decrease or stagnate wellness. Practioners strongly believe that by educating oneself in the "never-ending wisdom" of this art individuals will be able to "master their own fate."

The New England School of Feng Shui located in Woodbury, CT was founded in 1999 to "bring the essentials of holistic studies and world-renowned teachers to New England," and will be conducting a number of programs through the rest of this year to educate the public about its principles and practices beginning this weekend (July 18-19) with a course in Feng Shui Fundamentals with Amy Mims, who will help enable participants to "clarify what they truly desire and remove obstacles in their paths by creating a home of work environment that supports them and expresses their life intentions." This program will be followed by.

The History of Feng-Shui

June 19, 2009 |17:29 | History of feng shui  By : Team X

Historical evidence points out that feng-shui has been around at least 4,000 years, and most experts would put it more at something like 6,000 years old, so it has a long history. In fact, feng-shui precedes any of the formal religions in China or the West.

A Neolithic gravesite discovered in the Henan province of China in the year 1988 dates from approximately 4000 B.C. Even at this early date, the two classic directional symbols, the dragon (east) and the tiger (west) were already present, indicating not only directional orientation on the earth, but synchronization with the heavens, as these two symbols were initially used as stellar constellations in the sky connected to the North Star and the Big Dipper.

Feng Shui HistoryFeng Shui history goes back at least 5000 years and is based on the concept that everything is made up of energy or Chi.  It uses nature and placement to make sure that the energy in any environment is balanced and flows properly.

While we often associate Feng Shui with our homes, its principal should be applied to everything including outdoor areas and even the construction of cities and neighborhoods.

The principles of Feng Shui include the five elements earth, wind, water, metal and fire.  These elements are all associated with a color and each one can be used to balance the other.

Feng shui The flow of history

December 19, 2008 |14:41 | History of feng shui  By : Team X

Monica Hess thinks she knows why Mount Vernon and Monticello gave us charismatic leaders, why Calumet Farm, Lexington, Ky.'s historic horse breeding stable, went into decline, why the sun didn't always shine bright on My Old Kentucky Home: feng shui.

Feng shui - pronounced "fung schway" - is the Chinese practice of arranging surroundings to affect personal fortune, influencing everything from finances to relationships. You find it in your own house, and Hess, a history buff, says that you find it in the great houses of history.

Some houses, Hess says, simply hit on all cylinders, at least during certain periods, whereas others are calamity magnets. There are various forms of feng shui - many consumers simply content themselves with the feng shui-lite that includes crystals, octagonal mirrors and home decluttering  and there are numerous feng shui schools, including Form School, Compass School and Black Hat. All are concerned with maximizing the flow of beneficial energy through a house.
