Valley realtor uses feng shui

Sue Rector says if you balance out the five elements of feng shui, "then you're balancing the environment so that you feel really comfortable." "I go into people's homes and I have to balance the five elements in their home to create balance and harmony," Rector explained. She said she has a house listed right now in the Grayhawk area of north Scottsdale. "It's been listed for 35 days, we've had over 20 people looking at the home. Right now, we have a contract."

While some might be skeptical, Rector said, "Most of the time it's 90 days on market while we're under 45 days. The last listing we had we sold in 12 days in this market." Make sure the energy in the house you buy is positive before you move in, said Rector. "You need to love your home because your home needs to nourish you. Your home either energizes you or it depletes you." Feng shui creates balance and harmony, said Rector.

"We cleanse the home and bless it so that we're lifting the energy," she said. "Then I let the client know what they need to do when they bring their items in to change that energy so they're not absorbing that negative energy from the people who were occupying the home before." Changing the paint can change the energy, Rector said. She added that a love of the land is very important, saying some nice flowers around and making sure that branches grow upward on a tree really left the energy.
